Founder and President of
Living Well, Inc., Ginger is dedicated to public health
education and advocacy for healthy, eco-friendly living. Ginger opened the first yoga and physical therapy studio on the outer banks island of
Emerald Isle, North Carolina in 2001, after years of experience in
traditional physical therapy settings and after starting a yoga program for the Town of Emerald Isle. Ginger is dedicated
to her work in yoga, pilates, and physical therapy and specializes in orthopaedic injuries, chronic pain
management, and women's health. Her mission for Living Well is to teach authentic and medically current yoga as therapy, blending it with physical therapy & Ayurveda. She teaches yoga therapeutics and yoga classes for the beginner to the most advanced students in her private Yoga Studio on Emerald Isle. To Ginger, the broken individual is always considered whole and
significant.

Ginger earned her Master of Physical
Therapy from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science
from UNC-Wilmington. Ginger is a licensed physical therapist, certified
athletic trainer, registered yoga teacher, and a certified Pilates
instructor. Ginger is registered at the 500 hour advanced, experienced level by The Yoga
Alliance and holds Certificates in Pilatees, Yoga Therapy, and Ayurveda. Ginger has over 10,000 hours of experience in Yoga. Her methods of teaching are unique and derived from her unique & intuitive approach to healing through Yoga Therapy.

Ginger focuses on the treatment of all
chronic pain, whether physical or emotional, through yoga and its
therapeutic benefits. She combines her background of physical therapy,
yoga, and sports medicine in the treatment of conditions such as asthma,
anxiety disorders, headaches, sprains/strains, back and neck pain, and
other sports related injuries. Ginger's most recent research has focused
on the management of fibromyalgia and low back pain.

Ginger is the Executive Director of Professional Yoga
Therapy Studies Program, recognized by The Yoga Alliance and the only Yoga Therapist Certification for health care professionals in the United States. The first program of its kind, Ginger has set out to create an advanced medical Yoga program that speaks specifically to health care professionals at their level, training them and certifying them to be practicing Yoga Therapists.
Ginger's grassroots mission has taken the PYTS program to every
region of the
United States
. The program is offered exclusively to board
licensed health care professionals, teaching yoga in a medically
relevant light, preparing clinicians to use yoga techniques with
their patients and teach regular classes.. PYTS Graduates are recognized RYT and CYT and earn a Certificate in Yoga Therapy upon completion of the program.
Most recently, Ginger has authored a new certificate program in specialized yoga therapy for motherhood. Yoga Therapy for Motherhood is a prenatal, chilldbirth, and postpartum yoga therapy certificate program for the serious yoga practitioner or health care professional specializing in maternal and child health.

Ginger is also the author and creator
of the first medically oriented yoga DVD series geared toward the
chronic pain population, entitled, Ancient Yoga, New You...Based on her
research with patients of chronic pain.
